How to Host the Ultimate Thanksgiving Dinner Party Outdoors

If you’re hosting Thanksgiving Dinner this year but are worried about the weather – don’t be. Take advantage of crisp fall conditions and celebrate Thanksgiving in your great outdoors this year!

It will give the kids more outside space to run and the adults will appreciate a little extra elbow room, to say the least. But to throw a memorable event you should keep some important things in mind:

  1. The menu: since the menu is more involved (and usually being the big “star” of the dinner), consider preparing it entirely in your outdoor kitchen, if possible. Keeping it fresh and warm is a must, so take advantage of the cooking area nearest to the guests. In case you don’t own a complete outdoor kitchen yet, chafing dishes and portable food warmers are a good help!

  2. The guests: not only the food should be kept warm, but also the people! For that, take advantage of your fire pit! Make sure to create a nice seating area near to it to create a cozy atmosphere.

Also, just in case:

Have a backup plan: even here in the South, Thanksgiving can be a bit “too” chilly, making it impossible to celebrate outdoors. Have a Plan “B” to move your dinner inside!

But most of all – we wish you a great Holiday with your loved ones!
